UNDO this Solstice

It is precisely one week until summer solstice.
This point in our annual calendar could be seen as one of the most life changing.
On this day, the Sun reaches its most northerly point in the northern hemisphere.
The light is at it’s BIGGEST & BRIGHTEST!
Which got me to thinking…

For me, June has been a month of continued reflection based on the sun and moon and what they are telling us.
It just keeps on coming up with everything and everyone.
Next Friday the Sun will reach ‘solstice’.
The Sun then begins its journey back to the southern hemisphere.
The dark will then grow, even though we’re just beginning summer.
This epic meeting of the light and dark can be magnified and explored in many ways.
What’s calling out to me is this idea of the light reaching a crescendo next weekend which is amplified by a full moon on Sunday…
It goes without saying, this is going to be a powerful time. We could choose make the most of it!
Think of the creativity you could channel, the goals you could meet, the ideas you could act upon under such luminous circumstances… (I am always seeking the positives in any given situation, it’s just how I roll right now).
That said, I guess for some this might be a scary thought; All that ‘light’ could be hard to look at.
This gets me back to my thought train.
How much is too much light?

I often notice that as we start to become more in tune with ourselves, work with ourselves and unravel any old knots and blockages, we can start to really shine.
Of course the debris that falls away is not always that glamorous.
The process of becoming ‘lighter’/’brighter’ (energetically, spiritually as well as physically) can discharge some ugly demons.
Ok, so putting all that fall out aside for a moment and what is left?

*LIGHT*

This process of lightening/brightening is much like this approaching peak in our calendar of light and the full moon on Sunday…
The light is getting brighter.
And we do have choices in how we respond.

1. Move towards it, look at it, draw energy from it, allow it to show us things.
2. Turn our backs, shade our eyes, resist, hide.

The full moon on Sunday is particularly strong. It is one of 3 ‘super moons’ this year (i.e. it is closest to the sun and therefore even brighter and more amplified)!
Next weekend could well be a time of awareness and revelation.
The new moon 2 weeks ago was powerful enough, now we have a little extra light shining on whatever new ideas or thoughts came up back then.
I know from personal experiences light (in a person or a thing) is often hard to look at and can initially repel us.
That’s why this could be a really great test for the power of your spirit.

Things don’t have to be so hard though.
This can be a positive moment in the unfolding of things if you choose to see it that way.
If it get’s too much…
Look to your ‘family’ (biological or not), turn to your ‘home’ (wherever that is, metaphorical or not) for protection, support, love.
There is a lot of change going on and now it is going to be amplified
Try to pay attention to only one thing, especially if the lights are shining too bright.
Allow it to settle into your reality.

The clear message in all of this (for me) is to live for the now.

I leave you in the safest of hands: Bjork… if in doubt… UNDO.

It’s not meant to be a strife
It’s not meant to be a struggle uphill
Oh I

It’s not meant to be a strife
It’s not meant to be a struggle uphill
Oh I

You’re trying too hard
Surrender
Give yourself in
You’re trying too hard
You’re trying too hard, ah

It’s not meant to be a strife
It’s not meant to be a struggle uphill
Sweetly
It’s not meant to be as dry
To enjoy
It’s not meant to be a stuggle uphill
Oh I

It’s warmer now
Lean into it
Unfold
Unfold in a generous way
Surrender

It’s not meant to be as dry (surrender)
It’s not meant (undo) to be a struggle uphill (undo)
It’s not meant to be as dry
It’s not meant to be a struggle uphill

I’m praying
To be
In a generous mode
The kindness kind
The kindness kind
To share
Me
To share me

It’s not meant to be as dry
It’s not meant to be a struggle uphill

It’s not meant to be as dry
It’s not meant to be a struggle uphill

Undo
Undo
If you’re bleeding
Undo
And if you’re sweating
Undo
If you’re crying, darling
Undo

Undo
Oh I
Unravel
