London Raw Food Porn

I am back in Scotland for a couple of weeks and there’s a lot of space and time to reflect on my time in London.
Deep & meaningful stuff aside let’s talk once more about food!
I promised some snaps of the wonderful variety of raw friendly food I discovered…

It’s amazing the things you can do with simple ingredients.
That said, making food like this requires good quality ingredients and in constant supply.
Knowing this I appreciate what these cafes are doing so much – it’s not a big money maker and it asks for attention to detail, patience and belief in what you’re serving!*

After exploring London’s finest raw friendly eating places, I have come to the same conclusion I have been coming to for years now…
You cannot beat creating & eating at home.
You know I love going out to eat just as much as the next person, but keeping it simple and knowing what goes into what you eat adds a different kind of specialness you just don’t get in a restaurant.
Complicated ‘gourmet’ raw doesn’t sit right with me – in fact it often gives me that same food coma I am looking to avoid which comes after eating heavy/cooked food. It also takes me further away from the enjoyment of individual tastes and of course the benefits I feel from eating simple fresh food as much as I can.
The balance has to be there – making sure you don’t isolate yourself from people while not making compromises you regret the next day.
My perfect solution: invite everyone you love over to yours and make a giant salad.
If your pals can’t bare going the night without meat/grains etc… have them bring something to add to your orgasmic salad which makes their plate feel complete.
It’s cheap, easy, relaxing and creative!

Mix it up, don't be afraid of sharing a meal with people who eat differently to you! Salad, sprouts, red wine, strips of duck... and much more we couldn't fit in the photo! Oh and don't forget, good company, music and LOVE!
